Holistic Health & Wellness Resources
At Cedar Rose, we understand that your mental health doesn't exist in isolation from your physical health. Your thoughts, emotions, nervous system, gut health, hormones, nutrition, and stress response are all deeply interconnected.
This is especially true with burnout. Chronic stress doesn't just affect your mood—it affects your gut, your hormones, your sleep, your immune system, and your overall physical health. Healing from burnout often requires addressing these physical components alongside the mental and emotional work we do in therapy.
That's why true, lasting healing often requires a whole-person approach.
While therapy addresses the mental and emotional aspects of anxiety, sometimes you need additional support to address the physical components—things like gut health, nutrient deficiencies, physical pain, hormone imbalances, or chronic inflammation that can all contribute to - or be connected to - anxiety and mood symptoms.
We don't provide these services in house—but we are building relationships with trusted practitioners who do.
This page is your guide to holistic resources that complement the therapeutic work we do together. These are practitioners we know, trust, and refer our own clients to when integrated care is needed.
You might benefit from working with one of these practitioners if you're experiencing:
Anxiety that seems connected to your menstrual cycle, perimenopause, or postpartum
Digestive issues alongside your anxiety (bloating, IBS, food sensitivities)
Brain fog, fatigue, or difficulty concentrating
Blood sugar crashes or energy rollercoasters throughout the day
Sleep issues that don't improve with stress management alone
Chronic pain or autoimmune conditions
A sense that "something physical" is contributing to your mental health struggles
The good news? You don't have to choose between therapy and physical health support. They work together. And when they do, healing happens faster and goes deeper.
Healing Anxiety Requires More Than Just Therapy
When Holistic Support Might Help
Our Holistic Wellness Partners
Nutrition & Gut Health
What they do: Registered Dietitians who specialize in the gut-brain connection help you understand how what you eat impacts your mood, energy, and overall health. They can assess for nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, blood sugar imbalances, and gut health issues—all of which play a significant role in mental health.
When to work with a dietitian:
You suspect food is impacting your mood or energy
You have digestive issues alongside anxiety
You want to understand the gut-brain connection
You've tried "eating healthy" but still don't feel well
Trusted Practitioners:
Bodywork & Somatic Support
What they do: Trauma lives in the body. Practitioners like acupuncturists, massage therapists trained in trauma-informed bodywork, pelvic floor physical therapists, and somatic practitioners help release stored tension and trauma from your nervous system in ways talk therapy alone cannot.
When bodywork might help:
You feel "stuck" in your body
You carry tension or pain that doesn't have a clear physical cause
You're working through trauma
You're preparing for or recovering from childbirth (pelvic floor PT)

When to work with a functional medicine practitioner:
You want comprehensive lab work to understand what's happening physically
You have unexplained symptoms your conventional doctor can't resolve

How This Works
If you're already working with me in therapy:
When I notice patterns that suggest physical health might be playing a role in your anxiety, I'll bring it up. We'll discuss whether working with one of these practitioners might be helpful, and if you're interested, I can provide a warm referral.
You're always in control—there's no pressure, just options.
If you're not currently in therapy but need holistic support:
You're welcome to reach out to any of these practitioners directly. Many of them also offer virtual consultations, making support accessible no matter where you're located.
If you'd like coordinated care:
With your permission, I can communicate with your other providers to ensure everyone is on the same page. This collaborative approach often leads to the most comprehensive healing.
A Note About Insurance & Investment
Many holistic practitioners don't take insurance, which can feel like a barrier. Here's what I want you to know:
Investing in understanding what's happening in your body—through comprehensive testing, personalized nutrition support, or targeted treatment—can actually save you money, time, and suffering in the long run.
That said, I understand cost is a real consideration. When appropriate, I'll help you prioritize which supports might be most helpful first, and many practitioners offer payment plans or sliding scale options.
